Workflow cost optimization, Native App monitoring, and security fixes
Two releases, one day
Hello Team,
We are pleased to announce xDM 2025.1.13, released together with a new version of the Snowflake Native App.
For all xDM deployments, it reduces database activity from workflows, which lowers costs on Snowflake and other auto-suspend databases, and delivers security and reliability fixes. For the Snowflake Native App, it also introduces platform monitoring and table cleanup.
Why this matters
Lower Snowflake costs for workflows, better visibility for the Native App, and a more secure product
•Snowflake cost optimization for workflows: the workflow engine no longer queries the database when there is no workflow activity. Where it previously sent a query every 2 seconds to each data location (about 43,000 queries a day), it now only queries when there is work to process, apart from a safety check every few hours, so Snowflake and other auto-suspend warehouses can suspend when workflows are idle
•Native App monitoring: optional Snowflake platform monitoring records CPU and memory usage, container status, network activity, and storage usage in the account's event table, with a dedicated read-only role
•Table cleanup in Native App data locations: a new SQL procedure lets XDM_APP users drop Native App-owned tables without transferring ownership
•Security: multiple CVEs are addressed through third-party library and dependency upgrades, import file extensions are now validated, and deleting a role now removes its user assignments
•SQL Server encryption with customer-managed keys: the required drivers are now included
•Reliability: fixes for stalled workflows, memory growth on redeploy, stuck load batches, and exhausted database connections on Snowflake
