What would cause two contributing masters to combine in a golden but not match on a suggested?

In my picture example, Records A and B both have merged to a golden (52), but when looking at a new merge group they're both a part of, they aren't matching at all and are thus bringing the overall group down.

What are the possible causes for this? Off the top of my head:
- User manually merged them previously
- They previously merged on a rule that has since been changed

Hello Josh,

We usually see those behaviors whenever 2 masters matched in the past.

But then for some reason (match rules update or data update no longer respecting the match rules), those 2 masters no longer match.

As Semarchy does not perform automatic split, then they remain merged until acted upon by a datasteward.

Hence why there is no physical link between both masters.

Could that be it in your case as well?
