Product: Semarchy Snowflake NativeApp v2025.1.X with embedded repository

-----------------------------------------

Summarized Solution

Customers running xDM as a Snowflake Native App will see two different version numbers, and they do not match. This is expected. They identify two different things:

Where you see it

Example

What it identifies

Snowflake (Apps page / app details)

V2025_1.6

The version of the Native App package

xDM (About dialog)

2025.1.13

The version of the xDM application you are running

Detailed Solution

Why the numbers are different

The Native App package is the container that delivers xDM into your Snowflake account. It includes the setup scripts, configuration, and the xDM application itself. The package is versioned independently of xDM, so a package update can ship without a new xDM version, and the package number will not line up with the xDM number.

Using the examples above:

  • V2025_1.6: the 2025.1 release line, package version 6. The .6 is the package revision.

  • 2025.1.13: xDM version 2025.1, build/patch 13.

Both share the 2025.1 release line, but the final number counts different things. Do not try to convert one into the other.

How to find each:

Native App Package Version (Snowflake)

  1. Sign in to Snowflake.

  2. Go to [Data Products > Apps] and select the Semarchy xDM app.

  3. The version appears in the app details as V<year>_<release>.<package revision>.

xDM Version

  1. Open xDM and sign in.

  2. On any page, open the About dialog [describe how, e.g. click the user menu or help icon].

  3. The xDM version appears in the dialog, for example 2025.1.13.

Which version should I give to Support:

Include both. The xDM version tells us which application release you are on, and the package version tells us which Native App package delivered it. Together they let us reproduce your environment accurately.

FAQ:

Is my deployment out of date if the numbers don't match?

No. They are separate version schemes, so a mismatch is normal.

Which number do I use to check release notes or compatibility?

Use the xDM version (from the About dialog) for xDM release notes and documentation. Use the package version when the question concerns the Native App itself, such as installation or upgrade behavior.

Does a new package version always mean a new xDM version?

Not necessarily. A package revision may contain Native App changes without changing the xDM version.

How do I upgrade?

Snowflake customers should automatically upgrade to the latest version of the Snowflake patch and xDM. However, maintenance policies are supported to configure the timing of when the upgrade should take place based on your internal policies.
